What LifePost is
LifePost is a digital legacy platform where you write a single, lasting message for the people who come after you. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how we protect it.
You must be 18 or older to create a LifePost.
What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address, your name, birth year and location, an optional profile photo, and whatever you choose to put in your LifePost (text and up to three photos). If you left your email or a draft on our landing page before we opened, we keep that too. When you report a LifePost, we record the report and the IP address it came from, so one person can't file the same report many times.
Why we collect it
We use your information to run your account and show your LifePost the way you chose: public, private, or on a date you pick. We email you about your account and your LifePost (for example, when it goes live or is being reviewed) and, occasionally, about product updates you can unsubscribe from. Your name, birth year, location and photo appear on your LifePost only if you publish it publicly. We never sell your data. We never use your content to train AI models. We never show you ads.
Services we use
A few trusted companies process data on our behalf, only to run LifePost: Supabase (database, sign-in and photo storage), Vercel (hosting), OpenAI (an automated safety check of a LifePost's text before it goes live; OpenAI does not use this text to train its models), Resend (sending email), and Sentry (error reports that help us fix bugs).
How we protect it
Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit, and access to production systems is restricted to the founder. We use HTTPS across the entire site. Every LifePost is checked before it is shown publicly, and private LifePosts are visible only to you.
Cookies and tracking
We use the Meta Pixel to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns. This sets cookies in your browser. We also use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not track individual users.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time from your Settings page; this removes your profile, your LifePost and your photos. You can also ask us to delete or send you a copy of your data by emailing hello@lifepost.io. We will handle email requests within 30 days. If you are located in the EU, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, and port your data.
Content ownership
You own everything you write on LifePost. By posting a LifePost, you grant us a license to display and preserve your content on the platform for the purpose of the service. You can revoke this by deleting your LifePost or requesting account deletion.
Children
LifePost is for adults: you must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we delete it if we learn we have.
Changes
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email if we have your address, or by posting a notice on the site.
